Curly hair
What is the best way to care for curly hair?
The short answer
Get a cut shaped for your curls, keep them hydrated, blot instead of rubbing, and never brush them dry. Let curls dry undisturbed, or use a diffuser on low.

Curls need moisture, a cut that respects how they fall, and as little friction as possible.
Start with the right cut
Curls shrink and spring differently on every head. I shape them where they live, so the cut looks balanced when your hair dries naturally, not only after a blowout.
Everyday routine
- Detangle only when wet and full of conditioner, with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb.
- Blot with a microfiber towel or a cotton T-shirt; never rub.
- Apply a leave-in while the hair is soaking wet to lock in moisture.
- Diffuse on low heat, or let curls dry without touching them.

What I recommend
Aquis
Microfiber Hair Towel
Rubbing hair with a cotton towel roughs up the cuticle. Blot with microfiber instead, especially curls, and you will see less frizz.
Kent
Wide-Tooth Detangling Comb
The single cheapest thing that saves hair. Comb wet hair from the ends up, never from the root down, and you will lose far less to breakage.
Slip
Mulberry Silk Pillowcase
Cotton grabs the hair all night. Silk lets it glide, so you wake up with less frizz, fewer tangles, and a blowout that lasts a day longer.
