How do I make my Brazilian Blowout last?

The short answer

Wash with a sulfate-free shampoo, keep chlorine and salt water off your hair, and blow-dry with low heat. With the right care, results last up to 12 weeks.

The Brazilian Blowout works from the first wash, and the way you care for it decides whether it lasts six weeks or twelve.

  1. Use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. Sulfates strip the protective layer.
  2. Rinse with fresh water after the pool or the ocean, or wear a cap.
  3. Blow-dry with a round brush on medium heat when you want it extra sleek. Air drying is fine too.
  4. Book your next treatment when the frizz starts to come back, usually after 10 to 12 weeks.
